Today, I stumbled upon an outdated ruby version and fucked up my installation.
So I tried to clean up a lot of stuff afterwards, but I lost my gems and couldn't remember how I installed the gems with rvm previously.
To save me and others some time, who happen to have the same thing going on, or are just curious, here it is:
Install the serve gem
gem is one of my most used gems.
It fires up a local webserver in the directory and works pretty well,
if you happen to design a microsite, or have help out a designer at work.
rvm @global do gem install serve
If you need it only for a specific version of ruby:
rvm 1.9.3@global do gem install serve
